POLYTECHNIC COMMON ENTRANCE TEST-2023 DETAILED NOTIFICATION

The State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Telangana, Hyderabad will conduct “Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET)” for the candidates seeking admission in to all Diploma Courses in Engineering / Non Engineering / Technology offered at Polytechnics / Institutions (including Aided and Unaided Private Polytechnics / Institutions running in Private Engineering Colleges) in Telangana State and Diploma in Agriculture, Agriculture Engineering, Seed Technology & Organic Agriculture Courses offered by Professor Jay Shankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Diploma Courses offered by Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticulture University (SKLTSHU)

Application are called from Candidates passed SSC or its equivalent recognized by the Board of Secondary Education, TS, Hyderabad (or) appearing in 2023 to appear "Polytechnic Common Entrance Test - POLYCET-2023" for seeking admission into Diploma Courses in Engineering and Non- Engineering/ Technology offered at Polytechnics/Institutions (including Govt./Aided and Unaided polytechnics/ Institutions and Polytechnics running in Private Engineering Colleges) in Telangana State,Agricultural courses offered by Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) , Horticultural Diploma courses offer by Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University (SKLTSHU), Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Courses offered by PV Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University(PVNRTVU) for AY-2023-24 as per the below schedule.

Eligibility:

POLYTECHNIC DIPLOMA COURSES OFFERED BY SBTET

Candidate shall be an Indian National.
Candidate should belong to the State of Telangana /Andhra Pradesh as defined in G.O.(P).No. 646, Education (W) Dept., dated 10-07-1979 and in the subsequent amendments.
Candidates should have passed S.S.C. Examination conducted by State Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana or anyother examination recognized as equivalent thereto bythe Board ofSecondaryEducation, A.P/TS. such as CentralBoard of SecondaryEducation (CBSE), Indian Council for Secondary Education (ICSE), National Institute of Open School (NIOS), Telangana Open School Society (TOSS), A.P. Open School Society (APOSS), X class examination conducted by various State Boards of Secondary Education in India with Mathematics as one of the subjects, and obtained at least 35% marks in the qualifying examination.
Candidates belonging to NIOS/TOSS/APOSS/CBSE/ICSE/OTHER Examinations recognized as equivalent to SSC by Telangana State SHOULD HAVE PASSED ALL THE SUBJECTS including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, with minimum of 35% Marks in each subject.
Candidates who appeared or are appearing for SSC or equivalent examination being held in March/April-2023, and whose results are yet to be declared can also appear for POLYCET-2023.
There is no age restriction for appearing for POLYCET-2022. However maximum eligible age for obtaining a scholarship, the guidelines issued in Memo No. 10537/SW(Edn.2)/2011, and those issued from time to time by Social Welfare (Edn.) Department shall apply.
Mere appearing for POLYCET-2022 and obtaining a merit rank does not ipso facto entitle a candidate to be considered for admission automatically, unless the candidate fulfills the requirements laid down for admission
Working Employee candidate should bring NOC from the respective organizations

COURSES OFFERED BY PJTSAU AND SKLTSHU

Candidate shall be an Indian National.
Candidates seeking admission should produce a certificate(s) from the Heads of Institution(s) that the candidate has studied for a minimum period of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas during their period of study from 1st class to 10th class (any four years). The relevant information must be filled in the proforma as prescribed in FORM-I and duly signed by the Head of the institution concerned.
If Form-I is not filled in/duly signed by the concerned Head of Institution or officer along with office seal, the claim of the candidates will be rejected.
As of now, the Diploma courses offered by the University are not equal to Intermediate or any other vocational courses offered by the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.
Candidate should belong to the State of Telangana /Andhra Pradesh as defined in G.O.(P). No. 646, Education (W) Dept., dated 10-07-1979 and in the subsequent amendments.

Open School Society (APOSS), X Class Examination conducted by various State Boards of Secondary Education in India with Science as one of the subjects, and obtained at least 35% marks in the qualifying examination.
Candidates belonging to NIOS/TOSS/APOSS/CBSE/ICSE/OTHER Examinations recognized as equivalent to S.S.C. by Telangana State SHOULD HAVE PASSED ALL THE SUBJECTS including Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry with a minimum of 35% Marks in each subject.
In respect of the Diploma Courses offered by PJTSAU and SKLTSHU, the candidates for admission into Polytechnic Diploma Courses in the PJTSAU and SKLTSHU shall be required to have completed 15 years of age as of the year of admission with an upper age limit of 22 years as on 31-12-2023.
The selected candidates for admission into Diploma courses of PJTSAU and SKLTSHU shall pay the prescribed fees immediately. The detailed fee structure shall be placed on the University website along with the admission notification.

VETERINARY COURSES OFFERED BY PVNRTVU.

Candidate shall be an Indian National.
Candidates seeking admission should produce a certificate(s) from the Heads of Institution(s) that the candidate has studied for a minimum period of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas during their period of study from 1st class to 10th class (any four years). The relevant information must be filled in the proforma as prescribed in FORM-I and duly signed by the Head of the institution concerned.
If Form-I is not filled in/duly signed by the concerned Head of Institution or officer along with office seal, the claim of the candidates will be rejected.
The candidates who have higher education 10+2 or above are not eligible.
As of now, the Diploma courses offered by the University are not equal to Intermediate or any other vocational courses offered by the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh.

HORTICULTURE COURSES OFFERED BY SKLTSH

Candidate shall be an Indian National.
Candidates seeking admission should produce a certificate(s) from the Heads of Institution (s) that the candidate has studied for a minimum period of 4 years in schools located in Non-Municipal areas during their period ofstudy from 1st class to 10th class (any four years). The relevant information must be filled in the proforma as prescribed in FORM-I and duly signed by the Head of the institution concerned.
If Form-I is not filled in/duly signed by the concerned Head of Institution or officer along with office seal, the claim of the candidates will be rejected.
The candidates who have higher education 10+2 or above are not eligible.

The selected candidates for admission into the Diploma course of SKLTSHU shall pay the prescribed fees immediately. The detailed fee structure shall be placed on the University website along with the admission notification.

HOW TO APPLY:

Open the polycet website polycet.sbtet.telangana.gov.in Click on registration and fill the details.

After entering the registration details verify the mobile number with OTP An SMS with Registration number and password will be received to the registered mobile number.

Login in with Registration number and Password to enter into the POLYCET Application.

Click on Pay Now.

Select the payment gateway and proceed for payment, and make the payment.

After the successful payment click on Fill Application.

Enter the Personal details and click on Get Details.

Enter the Communication Details and click on Next.

Enter the Category details and click on Next.

Enter the Special Category details and click on Next.

Enter the Exam Center Details and click on Next.

Enter the Study Details and click on Next.

Upload Photo & Sign and click on Save & Preview.

Click on Generate Hall ticket and Download Hall ticket for Entrance Exam.

SYLLABUS

The examination (POLYCET) will be of 2 Hrs 30 Minutes duration consisting of only one paper as per the syllabus in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry & Biology of X Class (S.S.C.) Examination held in Academic Year 2023-2024 as prescribed by the Board of Secondary Education, Telangana State.

Question Paper Pattern:

The POLYCET Examination will be conducted for 150 marks in Mathematics (60 marks) + Physics (30 Marks) + Chemistry (30 Marks) +Biology (30 Marks).
The Duration of Examination is 2 ½ hours i.e, 11:00 AM to 01:30PM.
The candidates who are willing to take admission in to Agricultural & Veterinary Diploma Courses offered by PJTSAU & PVNRTVU & SKLTSHU shall attempt Biology Questions.

Two separate Ranks will be generated for MPC (120 Marks) and The MBiPC ranks will be generated by scaling down the Maths marks to 30.

MPC Rank: will be issued to students who desire to take admission into Diploma Courses in Polytechnics affiliated to SBTET.

MBiPC Rank: will be issued to the students who desires to take admission into courses offered by PJTSAU, SKLTSHU, and PVNRTVU Diploma Courses based on marks obtained in Math’s, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

(i) Qualifying marks in POLYCET will be Admission into Polytechnics Courses officer by SBTET is 30% of 120 marks i.e., 36 Marks in Maths, Physics, Chemistry put together
(ii) For Admission into Agricultural Polytechnics of Prof. Jayashankar Agricultural University, Hyderabad and Veterinary Polytechnics of P.V. Narasimha Rao Veterinary University, Hyderabad and Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University is 30% of 120 marks i.e., 36 Marks in Maths (60/2), Biology, Physics, Chemistry put together

The Admission Schedule:

The admission schedule (Web Counseling) will be notified in all the leading Newspapers after declaration of POLYCET-2023 results.
Candidates are advised to note that the admission into Polytechnics for the academic year 2023-24 shall be made on the basis of Web Counseling, wherein the candidates can opt for any courses in any Polytechnic in the order of priority and the allotment shall be made for his/her best preferred choice based on his/her merit and other admission rules in vogue.
Details of Web counseling and the list of Helpline centers will be available on the website polycet.sbtet.telangana.gov.in shall also be notified in all the leading Newspapers after declaration of POLYCET-2023 results.
