Admissions into VI Classin all (23) EMR Schools (CBSE SYLLABUS) of Telanganafor the academic Year 2026-27. Online applications are invited for admissions into 6th class in (23) EMR Schools of Telangana State for the AcademicYear 2026-27.Seats are equal for Boys (30) and Girls (30)for ach school.

Admission to class VI shall be made on the basis of an entrance Test called Eklavya Model Residential School Selection TEST (EMRSST). The candidates desirous to get admission in EMRSs have to appear and qualify EMRSST.Classes are conducted in English medium and as per CBSE Syllabus only.

Admission eligibility for 6th Class:

  1. Candidate should have qualified class V from a Govt./ Govt. aided/ Govt.recognized School/ CBSE Affiliated School/ Level B of NIOS OBE Program in 2025-26 or 2024-25. Or a Candidate who has not attended any school but studied at home is also eligible to apply for admission in Class VI (As per section 4 of hapter II of RTE Act, 2009). However, the parents/ guardian of the candidate hall have to submit a self-declaration regarding the same. The format is enclosed.
  2. Candidate should not be rusticated from any of the schools.
  3. The Candidate shall be allotted admission in any of the EMRS running across the state as per the Merit list on the basis of selection Test.
  4. Parental Income for the financial year 2025-26 should not be exceeded Rupees Two Lakh {2 lakh) per annum for urban and 1.5 lakh for rural or as per the Government guidelines at the time of admission.
  5. No students from higher class (than class V) should neither be allowed to appear for entrance/ admission test in class VI nor be allowed to take admission in Class VI and if any such case is found then admission will be cancelled immediately.

  1. The EMRSST, conducted in offline mode, may be two -hour duration objective type question from 03 sections for a total of 100 marks. The medium of instructions for the examinations may be English / Regional language or bilingual.
  2. Mental Ability Test-50 Questions-50 Marks
    Arithmetic Test-25 Questions-25 Marks
    Language(English&Telugu)-25 Questions-25 Marks
    Total-100 Marks
  3. A single test booklet comprising of all the three sections will be given to each candidate.
  4. The Question Paper of EMRSST will be based on Competencies in accordance with the Level prescribed for Class V students by NCERT/SCERT/CBSE.
  5. a separate OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer sheet will be provided to the candidates to indicate their answers and it will be collected back after the EMRSST is over.

TGCET-2026 COMMON ENTRANCE TEST FOR ADMISSION IN RESIDENTIAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Admission to Class – V in [4] societies of TGSWREI Society, TGTWREI Society, MJPTBCWREI Society and TREI Society through Entrance test for the academic year 2026-27.
The Telangana Government is providing quality education to the talented students of under privileged and weaker sections of the society through Residential Schools. This helps to bring out the naturally hidden talents of the talented students and prepares them to face the challenges of the 21st century. SC, ST, BC and General Residential Institutions have been established through the welfare department and each year talented students are admitted to these schools.Admissions in [4] Societies are made through the Telangana Government Common Entrance Test (TGCET) to Class V. While education in the schools is free including boarding& lodging.

The Entrance Test for admission into Class-V in [4] Societies and Class – VI to IX in [3] societies for the academic year 2026-27 is scheduled on 22-02-2026 [Sunday] from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm and examination centres arein the Telangana Districts and the centres selected by the concerned authorities across the state for classes 5th to 9th. The last date to submit online application is 25th January, 2026.

ELIGIBLE CRITERIA FOR ALL CANDIDATES:

  1. (a) Admission of candidate to class V and VI to IX in erstwhile district specific. A candidate who is studying class IV / V to VIII respectively in erstwhile district is allowed to apply for admission to [4] / [3] Societies in the same erstwhile district only.
  2. (b) A candidate appearing for the Entrance test must be studying in Class-IV / Class V to VIII respectively for the full academic year 2025-26. The candidate who has already passed/studied class V / VI to VIII respectively in previous academic years is NOT ELIGIBLE to apply & appear in the entrance test.
  3. (c) “Person with disability” means a person suffering from not less than forty percent (40%) of any disability as certified by a medical authority.
  4. (d) Annual Income of the parents should be below Rs.1,50,000/- in rural areas and Rs.2,00,000/- in urban areas.

Mode of Admission in Schools:

  1. A. Selection for candidates will be based on erstwhile districts (Old Districts).
  2. B. Children of Fishermen of all districts are eligible for admission into MJPTBCWRS Koudipalli school. In this school admissions are provided basing on the merit and reservation of the candidate.
  3. C. All the districts candidates in Telangana are eligible for admission in TRS Sarvail (Nalgonda District) Regional Centre of Excellence school. In this school admissions are provided basing on the merit and reservation of the candidate.

5th class-Mode of Admission in Schools:

  1. Applications are invited for admission into Class VI to IX backlog vacancies/Regular admissions in TGSWREI Society, TGTWREI Society and Class VI to IX backlog vacancies of MJPTBCWREI Society
    1. B. Answers should be bubbled in the OMR sheet.
    2. C. Sample question is given in Annexure II and sample OMR sheet is given in Annexure III for the students.
    3. D. The Entrance Test question pr will be in both Telugu & English Medium.

    Method of Answering the questions:

    1. A separate OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer sheet will be provided. Candidates are required to mark/indicate their answers at an appropriate place on the OMR sheet.
    2. Only Blue/Black Ball Point Pen is to be used to write on the OMR Sheet. Candidates should bring their own ballpoint pens. Use of pencil is strictly prohibited.
    3. For each question, there are four options, out of which only one is correct. The candidate isrequired to select the correct option and darken the corresponding circle of the chosen option. For example, if your answer for Question no. 15 is A, darken the circle under Ain the OMR sheet.

    2. 2. Reservation criteria (based on the rules of the respective societies).
    3. 3. Nativity.
    4. 4. Special Category (Minorities, orphans, children of the Army personnel, ST students of the Agency Areas and children of the employees who are working in the Agency Areas and PHC).
    5. 5. The reservation for physically challenged Children (Divyangulu), Orphans and children of the Army personnel are considered in their respective caste reservation quota.
    6. 6. The vacancies in the special categories (Physically challenged, orphans, children of the army personnel) are filled as per the directions of the Government.
    7. 7. If the Tribal students of the Agency areas and the Children of the employees working in Agency areas are not available, these vacancies are filled with the Tribal students as per the directions of the Government.
    8. 8. The Chief Convener has the right to allot the seats of one category to another category if there are no suitable candidates in any reservation category.
    9. 9. The Chief Convenor has the right to reject the admission of any student who got selected, if he/she is found ineligible for any reason.
    10. 10. In case of tie among two or more candidates who have the same total marks, the decision will be taken in the following order: Maths ,Environmental Science,Mental Ability / GK & current Affairs, English, Telugu, DOB etc.

Admission to Class – V in [4] societies of TGSWREI Society, TGTWREI Society, MJPTBCWREI Society and TREI Society through Entrance test for the academic year 2026-27.
The Telangana Government is providing quality education to the talented students of under privileged and weaker sections of the society through Residential Schools. This helps to bring out the naturally hidden talents of the talented students and prepares them to face the challenges of the 21st century. SC, ST, BC and General Residential Institutions have been established through the welfare department and each year talented students are admitted to these schools.Admissions in [4] Societies are made through the Telangana Government Common Entrance Test (TGCET) to Class V. While education in the schools is free including boarding& lodging.

The Entrance Test for admission into Class-V in [4] Societies and Class – VI to IX in [3] societies for the academic year 2026-27 is scheduled on 22-02-2026 [Sunday] from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm and examination centres arein the Telangana Districts and the centres selected by the concerned authorities across the state for classes 5th to 9th. The last date to submit online application is 25th January, 2026.

ELIGIBLE CRITERIA FOR ALL CANDIDATES:

  1. (a) Admission of candidate to class V and VI to IX in erstwhile district specific. A candidate who is studying class IV / V to VIII respectively in erstwhile district is allowed to apply for admission to [4] / [3] Societies in the same erstwhile district only.
  2. (b) A candidate appearing for the Entrance test must be studying in Class-IV / Class V to VIII respectively for the full academic year 2025-26. The candidate who has already passed/studied class V / VI to VIII respectively in previous academic years is NOT ELIGIBLE to apply & appear in the entrance test.
  3. (c) “Person with disability” means a person suffering from not less than forty percent (40%) of any disability as certified by a medical authority.
  4. (d) Annual Income of the parents should be below Rs.1,50,000/- in rural areas and Rs.2,00,000/- in urban areas.

Mode of Admission in Schools:

  1. A. Selection for candidates will be based on erstwhile districts (Old Districts).
  2. B. Children of Fishermen of all districts are eligible for admission into MJPTBCWRS Koudipalli school. In this school admissions are provided basing on the merit and reservation of the candidate.
  3. C. All the districts candidates in Telangana are eligible for admission in TRS Sarvail (Nalgonda District) Regional Centre of Excellence school. In this school admissions are provided basing on the merit and reservation of the candidate.

5th class-Mode of Admission in Schools:

  1. Applications are invited for admission into Class VI to IX backlog vacancies/Regular admissions in TGSWREI Society, TGTWREI Society and Class VI to IX backlog vacancies of MJPTBCWREI Society
    1. B. Answers should be bubbled in the OMR sheet.
    2. C. Sample question is given in Annexure II and sample OMR sheet is given in Annexure III for the students.
    3. D. The Entrance Test question pr will be in both Telugu & English Medium.

    Method of Answering the questions:

    1. A separate OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) answer sheet will be provided. Candidates are required to mark/indicate their answers at an appropriate place on the OMR sheet.
    2. Only Blue/Black Ball Point Pen is to be used to write on the OMR Sheet. Candidates should bring their own ballpoint pens. Use of pencil is strictly prohibited.
